Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TheFullBible ("we", "us", or "our") regarding your use of the TheFullBible mobile application, website (thefullbible.com), and any related services (collectively, the "App").

By accessing or using the App, creating an account, or subscribing, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

Please read these Terms carefully, along with our Privacy Policy (available at https://thefullbible.com/privacy-policy), which is incorporated by reference.

1. Description of the Service

TheFullBible provides access to the complete Bible, including canonical books, Apocryphal/Deuterocanonical texts, Dead Sea Scrolls fragments, the Book of Enoch, and other historically recognized scriptures. It also includes an optional AI-powered Guidance feature that analyzes your temporary input and suggests relevant scripture passages.

All Bible texts and translations are provided for personal, non-commercial, religious, and inspirational study purposes only.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the App. Users under 13 are prohibited.
• To access the Guidance feature, you must create an account using email/password or Google Sign-In. This requirement prevents abuse of the free tier and links subscriptions to legitimate users.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms or is used for abuse (including creating multiple free accounts to bypass usage limits).

3. Subscriptions and Payments

• The Guidance feature is available on a limited free basis and becomes unlimited with a $4.99 monthly subscription.
• All payments and billing are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing. We do not store or handle your payment information.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled through your Google Play account. Refunds, cancellations, and billing disputes are governed solely by Google Play's policies.
• We may change subscription pricing with notice; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

4. License to Use the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its content.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code.
• Use the App for any commercial purpose or to build a competing service.
• Scrape, crawl, or automate access to Bible texts or other content.
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.

5. Intellectual Property

• All Bible texts, translations, Dead Sea Scrolls materials, and related scriptures are either in the public domain or used under applicable licenses. We make no claim of ownership over these historical/religious texts.
• The App's design, code, logos, trademarks ("TheFullBible"), and all original content (excluding public-domain scriptures) are owned by us or our licensors. All rights reserved.
• AI-generated Guidance responses are provided for your personal use only and remain our property; you are granted a limited license to view them during your session.
• You acknowledge that interpretations of scripture vary and that we are not responsible for any theological, doctrinal, or interpretive disputes.

6. User Content and the Guidance Feature

• When you use the Guidance feature, any text you enter ("Input") is sent temporarily to Anthropic's Claude API for processing and is not stored on our servers.
• Inputs and AI responses exist only for the duration of that single session and are automatically deleted immediately afterward.
• You represent that your Inputs do not violate any laws and do not contain harmful, illegal, or infringing material.

Important Disclaimer on AI Guidance: The Guidance feature is an AI tool that suggests scripture based on your input. It is provided for inspirational, religious, and reflective purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, psychiatric, pastoral, legal, or financial advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, suitability, or safety of any AI suggestion. You use the feature entirely at your own risk. If you are experiencing distress, crisis, or mental-health concerns, please seek help from qualified professionals or appropriate hotlines immediately.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Upload, share, or transmit any content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or promotes violence.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Interfere with the App's security, including attempting to bypass login requirements or rate limits.
• Use the App to harvest data or engage in data mining.

8. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including:

• Google (authentication and billing)
• Firebase (authentication and analytics)
• Anthropic (Claude AI for Guidance)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for any acts or omissions by these providers.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Bible texts or translations are error-free or the most current version.
• The AI Guidance feature will always provide appropriate or accurate suggestions.
• The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING ANY RELIANCE ON AI SUGGESTIONS OR SCRIPTURE INTERPRETATIONS.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim (or $10 if you are on the free tier).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App.
• Your Inputs or reliance on Guidance responses.
• Your violation of these Terms or any law.
• Any dispute over scripture interpretation or theological matters.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as provided by Google Play.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration in California under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

For any matters not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on the App and website and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Miscellaneous

• These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us.
• If any provision is held invalid, the remainder remains in full force.
• Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
• These Terms do not create any partnership, agency, or joint venture.
