TheFullBible ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile and web-based application that provides the complete Bible (including Apocryphal texts, Dead Sea Scrolls fragments, the Book of Enoch, and all other historically recognized scriptures) along with an optional AI-guided reflection feature. We are committed to protecting your privacy and collecting only the minimum data necessary to provide the service.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the rights you have regarding your data. By using TheFullBible, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
A. Account Information (Required for Guidance Feature)
- Email address and basic profile information (name, profile picture) when you sign in with email/password or Google Sign-In.
- Unique user identifier generated by our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication or equivalent).
You cannot access the Guidance feature without logging in. This requirement exists solely to prevent abuse of the free tier and to attach subscriptions to legitimate accounts.
B. Subscription Information
- Subscription status (active, expired, canceled) and renewal dates.
- We never store your credit card or payment details. All billing is handled exclusively by Google Play Billing. We receive only a token confirming whether you are a paid subscriber.
C. Guidance Feature Inputs (Transient Only)
When you use the Guidance section, you may type or paste how you are feeling, what happened that day, or any personal reflection.
Important:
- This text is sent only to Anthropic's Claude API for real-time analysis.
- We do not store, log, or retain your input text or the AI-generated response after the session ends.
- The entire interaction is deleted from our servers immediately after the response is delivered to you.
- The experience is completely private and exists only for the duration of that single use.
D. Automatically Collected Technical Data
- Device type, operating system version, app version, and language preference.
- Anonymous usage statistics (e.g., which tabs are used most often) collected through Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics to improve the app.
- IP address (temporarily, for security and fraud prevention only).
We do not collect:
- Your Bible reading history or bookmarks (unless you explicitly enable cloud sync in a future update, which would be opt-in only).
- Location data.
- Any biometric or health information.
- Any data from your device's contacts, photos, or microphone.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and prevent free-tier abuse.
- To manage and verify your $4.99/month subscription.
- To deliver personalized scripture recommendations via the Guidance feature (processed in real time by Claude).
- To maintain and improve the app (crash reports, feature usage analytics — all anonymized where possible).
- To respond to support requests or legal obligations.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following trusted providers, each bound by strict data-processing agreements:
- Google – Authentication (Google Sign-In) and Google Play Billing.
- Firebase (Google) – Secure authentication and optional crash/usage analytics.
- Anthropic (Claude API) – Processes Guidance inputs only for the duration of the request.
Note: Anthropic is a U.S.-based company and does not retain your conversation history beyond the immediate processing of your single request.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal data to advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data Retention
- Account information: Kept only while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab; all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Guidance inputs & AI responses: Deleted immediately after delivery (zero retention).
- Technical/usage logs: Retained for a maximum of 90 days for security and debugging purposes, then automatically deleted.
5. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3), secure authentication tokens, and regular security audits. While no system is 100% impenetrable, we treat your account and any transient Guidance data with the highest level of protection.
6. Your Rights
You may:
- Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you (account info only).
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and all associated data.
- Opt out of non-essential analytics at any time in app settings.
- Withdraw consent for Google Sign-In by removing the connection in your Google account settings.
Because we are a U.S.-based service, we comply with applicable U.S. laws (including CCPA for California residents) and provide the same rights to all users worldwide as a matter of policy. To exercise any right, email us at the address listed in Section 10.
7. Children's Privacy
TheFullBible is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have done so, we will delete it immediately. Users under 13 should not create accounts or use the Guidance feature.
8. International Users
If you are located in the European Union or other regions with strict data-protection laws (GDPR, etc.), your data is processed in the United States. By using the app you consent to this transfer. We rely on standard contractual clauses and appropriate safeguards with all third-party processors.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you by posting the new version with a revised "Last Updated" date and, when material changes occur, by in-app notification or email.
